Monday, February 28, 2022 – Residents of Western Kenya are not a happy lot after they were shortchanged by their own sons – Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula.
This is after the two gave up on their fight for the presidency and hinted at stepping down in favor of Deputy President William Ruto in the ongoing negotiations with the Kenya Kwanza alliance.
Addressing delegates at his home in Vihiga, Mudavadi urged Luhyas not to push them so hard in the ongoing negotiations with Ruto over the presidency.
According to him, demanding that it must either be Mudavadi or Wetangula for the presidency will destroy their relationship with Ruto.
“If you (people of western) demand it must be you, then this will break our course. Our alliance is going to form the next government.”
“Allow us to continue negotiating on your behalf so that we can grow our country.
“Allow us to walk with Ruto in the Kenya Kwanza alliance,” the ANC leader pleaded with the delegates.
Further, Mudavadi hit out on President Uhuru, terming him arrogant over his move to endorse the ODM leader in the forthcoming August elections.
“I am not a fool and I’m not about to have a leader imposed on us.
“We know it is at the ballot that a leader is elected,” Mudavadi said.
